How can I become a member of USGRAA?
There are two types of members in USGRAA: associate members and regular members. Anyone can become an associate member of USGRAA simply by completing a registration form and paying the membership fees and annual dues yearly after that. You do not have to hold rank in Gyokushin Ryu Aikido or even be actively training to be an associate member. Regular members must hold dan rank (at least first degree black belt) in Gyokushin Ryu Aikido.
To become an associate member of USGRAA, follow these steps:
- Download, print, and complete the USYBA Registration Form.
- Include a check payable to “USYBA” for $60 for registration fee and first year annual dues. Click here for an explanation of fees and dues.
- Give the form to your instructor. If you don’t have a Yoseikan instructor, check the list of dojos.
What are the benefits of becoming a member?
You must be a member of USGRAA before you can earn rank in Gyokushin Ryu Aikido. Members recieve discounted rates on USGRAA-sponsored clinics, camps, and other events. Associate members may attend and participate in discussion at the annual General Assembly. Regular members may vote for officers and Administrative Council members at the general assembly. Regular members may also run for USGRAA offices or council seats. USGRAA membership does not guarantee you training or promotion in rank. Regular training is best accomplished through an affiliated dojo.
